Totally unacceptable. I logged in to check/make a payment to see they raised my payment $400 with no notice or so much as an email about system issues occur. I immediately left a voicemail, and email to them to call me immediately. 2 days later I get this: "There is an error on the disclosure that you received, Due to our conversion back in June the winter tax information is not pulling correctly. Our escrow department is working to get these corrected and mailed out by the end of this week. Please disregard the disclosure you received and wait for the revised on to be received." I immediately responded stating I need to know the correct payment amount for my loan since due date was coming up. No reply days later. Get it to together people, this is the largest asset you are handling for people, TERRIBLE website, horrible customer service and major errors. At least pick up the phone when I requested a phone call back in both voicemail and email.
I was referred to Member First by my credit union and contrary to other reviews, I had a great experience . This was due in large part to Jason Smith! Jason promptly answers emails, answered any questions I had when calling him, and they got me a closing date within 30 days of my paperwork going to underwriting! If you have dealings with this company, I strongly recommend you use Jason. His dedication to his job shows, as several times he was responding to my emails before 7:00 a.m. This Company is lucky to have him. I hope with the addition of employees like him this lender is able to make a positive turn around and rid themselves of the negative reviews. I have yet to make a payment as I just got into my home so I am unable to comment on the ease of online payments. I have, however, taken into account the reviews written on this issue. I will update if I encounter a problem.
I had the pleasure of having Jerry Brockman as my mortgage consultant when I made a request to refinance my mortgage thru Member First Mortgage. Jerry was a pleasure to do business with. It is so wonderful to work with someone who is not only very good at their job, but someone who honestly enjoys their job. My previous mortgage was with Bank of America and I had been trying for three years to refinance with them and got nothing but negative responses. My first contact with Jerry was a twenty minute phone call in which I learned more from Jerry in those twenty minutes than I did in three years of communications with Bank of America. Jerry was extremely informative, very personable and always available for all of my inquiries. I would definitely recommend Member First Mortgage to anyone I know.
My experiences with Member First Mortgage could literally not have been any better. From day one I was treated with kindness and respect. I felt like I was a friend rather than a customer. We have completed both a refinance as well as a new home purchase with Member First with no regrets. Loan products were explained to me clearly and recommendations were made based on our particular needs even with special circumstances. Member First Mortgage, with their loan officer Jim Rogers, has truly made our dreams come true! We were able to get our dream home and could not be happier. I would recommend that anyone in need of a mortgage or needing to refinance please don’t hesitate to contact them today.
This is the second time this year that our online payment through our credit union has been returned to our account. The money goes out of our account automatically on the 28th of the month and back into our account about the 12th of the month. No notice or phone call until it is late enough to incur a late fee. They are rude when I try to figure discuss how this could happen. I am not ever rude to customer service. Just want to be sure it does happen again. So it is very aggravating when someone gets snotty and defensive instead of helping solve the problem.
Seventy seven (77) days and counting. Deal is still not closed. Pre-approval granted only to find it was not an accurate credit prediction. Changed buyer to spouse only to find that there were other issues not discussed earlier in the process (needed an additional comp, title updates, etc.). Any and all could have been worked on when the appraisal was completed six weeks ago. Lack of organization. Chasing our tails. Seller is requesting compensation to stay with the sale. Negative stars.
If you want a lender who knows how to answer the phone, return a email or really do anything in a timely manor I would recommend against using Members First Mortgage. Its really is a shame that credit unions who do not have a lending department farm their mortgage services out to a company with this poor of service. As a real estate professional I now know to never let a buyer of mine or a buyer of a home I have listed use this company.
The experience from the initial discussion about the goals for refinancing of our home was outstanding! No other institution could touch the interest rate and terms. The entire cycle was quick and Wayne Fuller kept us updated on point all the way through! Thanks Member First Mortgage, especially Wayne Fuller for going that extra mile for us!!!!!
Over all the process was smooth and mostly painless. Everyone I talked to was great. The only caveat came when I switched from a 15 yr to 30 yr I was told there was a fee ($1500.) to switch terms because of my credit score. These types of charges and interest rates imposed by company’s are ridiculous, something I’d expect from a bank.
Applied for a preapproval and did not hear back for months. We contacted everyone and anyone trying to find an answer. Not only did they pull my credit score once, but twice...Finally someone reached out to us apologizing but after that contact I have not heard much from him. I would not recommend.
Kevin Trumble was very patient and always took the time to answer all our questions. He was very knowledgeable and kept us updated on each step of the mortgage process all the way to closing. We were very satisfied with Member First Mortgage company and we highly recommend them.5 Stars!!!

Poor customer service. Poor follow up. Ordered wrong appraisal. Now we cannot renew our rate again. Was 2.65 Now 3.5 Find someone else to do yourrefineance
Some procedural items were not explained clearly like the eSigning so all documents had to be "wet Signed" at closing. Other procedures went quickly.
Horrible, lender was terrible at staying in contact, felt like lots of jumping through hoops, customer service after closing is a pain in the butt.
A few bumps along the way, but everything was corrected quickly. Very fast turn over time on our refinance! Knowledgeable and friendly staff!
