I thought being part of a credit union meant that I was part owner. Therefore, before charging a fee for anything I should be notified first by mail or email. Charging fees is something you expect from a bank. I expect the employees of the credit union to guide me to make sure I understand all policies. The credit unions job is to make money on our money not by charging fees!!! I had to ask three different emplyees to find out what was really going on with the fees that I was charged. The employees are not up to date on policies or no one really cares. I found going into the branch for discussion is best. I would also like to express that I do not care for the new design for the livonia branch. There should be one old style of drive through at least. It is more convenient for me to drive up to a window than it is to walk in. I do realize that the technicality of the pay checks not clearing that day is being worked on. That was a bad mistake which causes people to have to go inside to put thier pay check in their account. Also, the new design inside is not of my liking. I do not like the fact that people can walk behind the teller and I, because anyone can see my account on the computer screen.
I needed a used car loan on a wednesday. I tried Wayne Westland Federal Credit Union but they were closed on that day so I applied online. Meanwhile, I was referred to CCCU by a friend. I applied and was approved within 30 minutes with an interest rate that was much lower than I anticipated. I closed on the loan based on my schedule the next morning on Thursday. I got a phone call back from WWFCU on Friday saying I was finally approved but the interest rate was over 1% higher. BOTTOM LINE: CCCU exceeded my expectations and I am now a customer with not only an Auto Loan but a Checking Account also. Thanks CCCU
I recently had an issue with mistakenly paying off a credit card bill, when my intentions were to make a monthly payment. Due to timing issues with the CC company, of being a Saturday night, they could not reverse the payment and were only able to suggest contacting my Credit Union immediately to help resolve the issue. First thing Monday a.m. they were all over it in a matter of minutes and Holly the [new] manager followed up in grand fashion. While it took a week for the problem to resolve, there was never any angst over how it would end up thanks to Holly and her team.

This credit union used to be nice when it was the Redford Credit Union. Since it’s changed and expanded, it’s been all downhill. I think they require their employees to take reverse Dale Carnegie training. It seems like the tellers are looking for any reason to tell a client “no”. Perhaps the neighborhood has turned and they’ve experienced so much fraud that they treat everyone like a criminal by default. But that’s not how I want to be treated. I’ll be taking my business to a different credit union where the tellers aren’t on a power trip.

We have been CU members for over a year and every time I talked to someone at the CU they are very, very helpful. We just closed on an auto loan with them and the process was great. We filled out our application on a Friday morning, and at 6PM Friday evening we walked out of the CU, check in hand to get our new car on Saturday AM. They are always very helpful and knowledgeable! We particularly like Alex at the Ann Arbor Trail branch location.
Currently with this bank because they have my auto loan. I called to do the skip a payment for December and was one day late and they would not work with me. Their hours are terrible, and the drive through which is not much better is right next to the highway making it hard to hear at the New Hudson branch. I will be shopping my auto loan to others and moving my money out of this bank. Terrible hours, below standard service, nothing special.
Sarah and Jim are amazing. I have historically been a big bank customer, but wanted to try something new. Jim sat me down and helped look at my life and finances as a whole. Using this information he helped me choose the right checking and savings account that will work for me. I feel confident in my finances going forward and I feel comfortable sending all of my friends and family to see Sarah and Jim at Community Choice Credit Union!
Before Research Federal CU was taken over by Community Choice, I had no major issues. I could call and talk to someone who could help me. Now you have to call a service center and I usually get mis-information, or have to wait until the next business day to have a specialist contact me. I am looking for a new credit union.
Im closing my account. They have the most expensive fees and will only take off one fee. Worst credit union ever!! No people skills. I asked them to please take off these fees because i cant afford them but they would not. If i wanted all these fees i would stayed with chase but even chase took of more then one fee. HORRIBLE
Terrible credit union, has more of a bank feel than a credit union. Unfriendly customer service and has unwillingness to help their members. Only concerned about getting money from their members. Will be closing my accounts there and telling everyone to do the same as well.
I have been a member since 1987. CCCU employees and the procedures have never caused me any concern or problems. I am happy to be a long-time user of their services.
