My husband and I have been members of NFCU for 30 years. We are in the process of closing all our accounts and refinancing our home because of the NFCU mortgage department. Over the past few years, I had to call NFCU each year and make sure they pay my insurance premiums. The premiums are part of the escrow and are due the same time every year. Each year our insurance company sends the bill to NFCU and they do not pay it until I get them on the phone in a conference call and make them pay it. This year was even worse. NFCU continues sent me letters asking for proof of hazard insurance. Our insurance company has provided this information directly to NFCU. NFCU purchased additional coverage for our home without our consent and is now trying to charge us for it. NFCU mortgage office clearly does not know what they are doing.
Please contact me from NFCU headquarters. I have been trying to reach you since February 2016. My account was misused by a vendor, I filed a dispute from my branch, complied with 10 window from branch, dispute lost my files, reversed my provisional credits. My branch stood them down and they re-instated the credits, However they inverted the claim amount. I owed the vendor $490.00 and he took $1, 373.90 - $960.00 was my dispute. Dispute paid the crooks $960.00 and are making me pay their mistake? In addition, it is still on my record that I defaulted on the 10 days. This is untrue! Dispute lost my file! I have been five months trying to get this mess cleaned up and no one at NFC will stand to Honor the Truth and take the brunt of Burden for their NEGLIGENCE. Next stop Court ....
Do not waist your time applying for a mortgage here. After over 10 years of being a member, I applied for a mortgage with them. With excellent credit and income I found myself in a situation where I was almost being judged for buying a place downtown, they asked me "why do you want to move from the suburbs to downtown DC!" hah this is ridiculous... I ended up canceling my application. Anyway a word of advice, have a plan B, thats what I did, I had another company process my load and I closed in a month. Navy Federal might be good for basic banking but not when it comes to things that matters, such as a simple mortgage.
Never in the history of being a navy federal member, have ive been treated in the manner I was today, being told by a supervisor that this is how we treat our members with no help what so ever. Thanks navy federal!

This is the navy federal headquarters building with an attaching branch and two outdoor atms. Very clean branch office with hospitable staff.
Beautiful campus, great service. Parking lot is a bit windy but still plenty of parking.
